“Planmed Clarity™ 3D enables imaging at a low patient dose without compromising the image quality”

When looking for a reliable and easy-to-use digital breast tomosynthesis system with outstanding image quality, Planmed Clarity™ 3D is the perfect solution. It was also the choice of Dr. Maria Săvulea, a specialist in medical imaging working at the Obstetrics-Gynecology Hospital in Buftea, Romania. She has been using the Planmed Clarity 3D system for over a year now and says there’s no going back.

Dr. Maria Săvulea

Dr. Maria Săvulea has over four decades of experience in medical work. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova, Romania, in 1977 and later specialized in ultrasound, radiology, and breast imaging. She currently works at the Obstetrics-Gynecology Hospital in Buftea, western Romania, 13 miles northwest of the capital Bucharest. Last year, the hospital received its first digital breast tomosynthesis system, Planmed Clarity™ 3D, which has had an enormous effect on the diagnostic accuracy and patient comfort.

Dr. Săvulea, could you tell us a little bit about your clinic?

“Buftea Obstetrics-Gynecology Hospital has a surgery and outpatient department that includes all specialties. In 2017, I started working with breast ultrasounds, without having a mammography system. After a while, I realized how useful it would be to get a diagnosis from a mammogram. I explored many brands and models, and in 2020, I decided on Planmed Clarity 3D.”

Which factors led you to choose Planmed Clarity™ 3D?

“First of all, we wanted to acquire a tomosynthesis system. We feel that Planmed Clarity 3D was the perfect system for us because of its cost-efficiency and ease of use. The way the unit is built makes it very easy to handle, and the tomosynthesis and magnification are spectacular. In addition, it produces exceptionally good and clear images.”

What do you consider the main advantages of the system?

“As I mentioned, tomosynthesis was the main reason for choosing this system. I have used a vast majority of its functions, but tomosynthesis has made a huge difference in establishing a diagnosis. The fact that Planmed Clarity 3D enables imaging at a low patient dose without compromising the image quality is simply amazing! The reliability of the unit and the compression, which in my opinion is ideal, are also key advantages.”

How has the new mammography system been received by your patients and colleagues?

“My patients are very satisfied. Compression is a vital part of mammography, and it is the part women are often most scared of. But after the examination, they now say it wasn’t that bad. My team is also happy as they feel it is very easy to work with this system.”

What would you like to say to anyone looking for a digital mammography system?

“I advise future users to choose the Planmed Clarity 3D system with confidence, because it will make their work so much easier. I have worked with analog systems in the past and there’s a night and day difference between that and the new digital breast tomosynthesis system.”
