Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ imaging protocol introduced for Planmed Verity®

The Planmeca Ultra Low Dose imaging protocol is now also available for Planmed Verity.

12 January 2018

The innovative Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ imaging protocol combines clinical image quality with extremely low effective patient doses – enabling 3D imaging with a dose close to standard 2D imaging. Now also available for the Planmed Verity® scanner, the protocol elevates medical CBCT imaging to an entirely new level.

Planmeca Ultra Low Dose allows reducing the Planmed Verity scanner’s already low effective patient doses by 50% without compromising diagnostic image quality. The unique and pioneering imaging protocol is based on Planmeca’s intelligent 3D algorithms.

Questions related to effective doses and patient safety have taken on an increasing role as 3D imaging continues to evolve. These considerations are especially pronounced when imaging children. Clinicians following the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle commit to not exposing patients to a higher dosage than is needed to acquire images of sufficient diagnostic quality.

Planmeca Ultra Low Dose for Planmed Verity

FOV 160 x 100 mm | Voxel size 200 µm | Effective patient dose 0,9 µsv

In accordance with the ALARA principle, our Planmed Verity scanner allows users to always choose the optimal balance between image quality and dose. Planmeca Ultra Low Dose protocol is the perfect choice for several types of cases, such as post-operative and follow-up images for orthopedic surgery, sinus studies, and pediatric imaging. It is even possible to create individual protocols to meet the needs of different patients.

The Planmeca Ultra Low Dose imaging protocol will soon be available as an update for all Planmed Verity scanners!
