Planmed Nuance Excel Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) System receives Health Canada Medical Device License

The Finnish Planmed Oy is pleased to announce that the company has received Health Canada approval for its full field digital mammography (FFDM) system Planmed Nuance Excel. The approval also includes Nuance DigiGuide digital stereotactic system.

Planmed Nuance Excel Planmed Nuance Excel features a large 24x31 cm amorphous selenium (a-Se) detector. The unit is equipped with Planmed’s proprietary MaxView Breast Positioning System which facilitates breast positioning and helps to draw and capture more chest wall tissue into the field of view maximising the amount of visible breast tissue seen on the mammogram. The digital stereotactic biopsy system Nuance DigiGuide is the most light-weight stereotactic device available today, and it is available as an option for the whole line of Planmed FFDM products.

Earlier Planmed has obtained Medical Device License for the Canadian market for the Planmed Nuance full field digital mammography system. Planmed Nuance and Planmed Nuance Excel units suit as well for screening as for diagnostic procedures. In addition to two detector sizes the Planmed FFDM product line is well known for its excellent image quality, low radiation dose, exquisite design and superior ergonomics.
